Cooking Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 165°C.
2. Remove the thawed turkey from its packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
3. Rub the turkey with olive oil or melted butter, and season generously with salt, pepper, and herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and sage). You can also stuff the cavity with onions, garlic, lemons, and herbs for extra flavor.
4. Place the turkey breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan.
5. Roast uncovered at 165°C for 15-20 minutes per 500 grams. Baste the turkey with its juices or melted butter every 30-45 minutes to keep the meat moist.
The turkey is done when the internal temperature reaches 74°C in the thickest part of the thigh (without touching the bone).
6. Remove the turkey from the oven and cover it loosely with foil once fully cooked. Let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute.
